Healthcare
Transforming Lives Across Nepal

In the remote corners of Nepal, from the hills of Dolakha to the valleys of Gulmi and the plains of Rautahat, quality healthcare remains out of reach for too many. Families travel long distances for basic medical services. Specialized care often feels impossible to access. At Project Propel Nepal, we believe healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Our goal is simple: to deliver accessible, comprehensive, and high-quality healthcare while empowering local communities to sustain it.

What drives our mission?

Outreach Clinic at Bigu Gumba (ORC)

Project Propel is primarily working in the health and education sectors in coordination with Tashi Chime Gatsal Nunnery, the organization operates an Outreach Clinic (ORC) located in Ward No. 07 of Bigu Rural Municipality, Dolakha District.

The Outreach Clinic provides comprehensive preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare services to more than 3,000 patients annually. While the primary focus is on curative treatment, special emphasis is also placed on safe motherhood and maternal health services.

All health services are provided free of charge. In addition, essential medicines are distributed at no cost to economically disadvantaged patients, as well as to the nuns and staff of the nunnery, with support from TCGHC. Through these efforts, Project Propel continues to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved and vulnerable communities.

Muskan Project– School Dental Health Initiative

With funding support from Brepal e.V., Project Propel Nepal is implementing Project Muskan – School Dental Health Project in two municipalities of Rautahat District in partnership with Rural Development Centre (RDC), a local NGO.

The project aims to conduct comprehensive dental screenings for 3,000 plus students in 10 schools to identify early signs of dental problems such as caries, gum disease, infections, and malocclusion. It also seeks to raise awareness on proper oral hygiene through interactive education sessions, establish referral pathways for students requiring further diagnosis and treatment, and strengthen preventive oral health practices at school and community levels in coordination with local governments and school administrations.

The initiative will help address the high prevalence of oral health problems among children caused by limited awareness, irregular dental check-ups, poor hygiene practices, and inadequate access to dental services.

Specialized Health Camps

We bring healthcare directly to the doorstep of remote villages. Through dental, eye, and general health camps, communities far from health centers can access essential services, sometimes for the first time.

Dental Health Camps

Free check-ups, treatments, and oral hygiene education.

Eye Care Camps

Cataract surgeries restore vision, transforming lives.

General Health Camps

Screenings and treatment for chronic and acute conditions.

Specialized Volunteer Doctors Program

To strengthen local expertise, we invite international doctors to Nepal. They serve communities while mentoring local staff, sharing knowledge in ophthalmology, gynaecology, and surgery.

This exchange ensures lasting improvements in care quality, with skills remaining in the community long after the volunteers return home.

Strengthening Healthcare Access

Sometimes disaster strikes, and communities are left vulnerable. In September 2024, floods damaged Laxmipur Health Post in Rautahat. Project Propel Nepal led a full renovation, giving locals access to safe, functional healthcare again.

Our Approach to Healthcare in Nepal

Healthcare at Project Propel Nepal goes beyond treating illness. We focus on prevention, education, and empowerment, equipping local health workers with the knowledge and skills to serve their own communities. By combining infrastructure, training, and community-based care, we create a sustainable healthcare ecosystem.

From a child receiving a vaccination in Dolakha to an elderly patient regaining sight in Gulmi, our healthcare programs touch lives, build confidence, and strengthen communities—one patient at a time.
