Project Propel is primarily working in the health and education sectors in coordination with Tashi Chime Gatsal Nunnery, the organization operates an Outreach Clinic (ORC) located in Ward No. 07 of Bigu Rural Municipality, Dolakha District.
The Outreach Clinic provides comprehensive preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare services to more than 3,000 patients annually. While the primary focus is on curative treatment, special emphasis is also placed on safe motherhood and maternal health services.
All health services are provided free of charge. In addition, essential medicines are distributed at no cost to economically disadvantaged patients, as well as to the nuns and staff of the nunnery, with support from TCGHC. Through these efforts, Project Propel continues to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved and vulnerable communities.
With funding support from Brepal e.V., Project Propel Nepal is implementing Project Muskan – School Dental Health Project in two municipalities of Rautahat District in partnership with Rural Development Centre (RDC), a local NGO.
The project aims to conduct comprehensive dental screenings for 3,000 plus students in 10 schools to identify early signs of dental problems such as caries, gum disease, infections, and malocclusion. It also seeks to raise awareness on proper oral hygiene through interactive education sessions, establish referral pathways for students requiring further diagnosis and treatment, and strengthen preventive oral health practices at school and community levels in coordination with local governments and school administrations.
The initiative will help address the high prevalence of oral health problems among children caused by limited awareness, irregular dental check-ups, poor hygiene practices, and inadequate access to dental services.
